Passenger’s awareness toolkit
The 2025 edition of the Mediterranean Sustainable Cruise Charter, applicable from January 2026 in the French and Monesgasque Mediterranean waters under their juridiction (including EEZ), is now based on 20 strengthened commitments covering 8 thematic areas. It addresses issues ranging from the reduction of air emissions and waste management, to collaboration with local stakeholders to improve the social and environmental footprint of the activity, as well as raising passenger awareness.

To support the launch of this edition, communication and awareness-raising tools have been developed by the DIRM MED in collaboration with the CPIE Bassin de Thau.
These tools are made available to the charter’s partners for dissemination on board ships and in port terminals, with the aim of raising passenger awareness of environmental challenges, and in particular the fragility of Mediterranean biodiversity.
Three awareness-raising materials have been developed :
A video promoting the preservation of the Mediterranean (available on request as more than 25 Mo) ;
A poster to help passengers observe emblematic species (FR/EN) ;
A photo exhibition illustrating the richness and fragility of Mediterranean biodiversity (high resolution images on request).
